I notice that Jug-Ears is backing away from his promise to fire anyone who leaked Valerie Plame's identity as a CIA agent. Now the media must prove someone actually "broke the law," in some weird Republican definition of the term. (I say the media because apparently we have now handed over the judicial functions of our previous court system to the Fourth Estate. Ask the government of Aruba.)
Why do they bother? Karl Rove ain't going nowhere. He is far more in charge in the White House than Jug-Ears is. When Jug appeared on stage during the election debates and he was detected with some kind of electronic box or prompting device under his jacket, it's an open secret in Washington that it was Rove who was on the other end.
