Jewel In The Crown Shatters

Basra was the jewel in the Occupation's crown. By the standards of the rest of Iraq, it was calm and economically functional. Many parts of the city actually have electricty for most of the day, running water, and some sewage disposal. There is an actual working Iraqi government there, even if it is mostly the local gangsters and the Shiite mullahs.

The jewel in Jug-Ear's crown has now shattered, with the rebellion in the streets against the British tanks and troops.

We are watching Jug's grand design crumble slowly before our very eyes. Ain't it great?
